CATCA 2022 has ended

CATCA recognizes that convention is situated on Treaty 7, South of Red Deer River the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the North of Red Deer River Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land.

Most pre-recorded videos and Zoom LIVE recordings will be found right here on SCHED until April 30th. Keynotes are an exception.

Cet atelier interactif démontrera comment les livres peuvent contribuer à inciter les élèves à devenir des lecteurs actifs. On verra comment appliquer ce qu’on lit en classe peut devenir un contributeur précieux à amener les jeunes à s’impliquer dans la justice sociale. Les enseignants sortiront de cet atelier avec les connaissances nécessaires pour atteindre tous les élèves grâce à l’art de raconter, à la lecture à haute voix et à l'établissement de liens significatifs. Venez découvrir comment un bon livre d’ancrage peut inculquer l'amour de la lecture.
This interactive workshop will demonstrate how books can help inspire students to become active readers. We will see how applying what we read in the classroom can become a valuable contributor to getting young people involved in social justice. Teachers will come out of this workshop with the knowledge to reach all students through storytelling, reading aloud, and making meaningful connections. Come and find out how a good anchor book can instill a love of reading.
