Are you finding it difficult to motivate your students to speak French in the FSL classroom? If so, this workshop is for you!! The workshop will introduce participants to the principles of task-based language teaching (TBLT) and resources developed by the Lethbridge Curriculum Developers Group to promote engagement in the French classroom. Among the resources that will be introduced are lesson plans and accompanying materials to guide students in using French to survive a zombie apocalypse and solve a crime. Participants will also be introduced to a variety of tasks that have been developed, including an online Superhero Bingo game that can be played remotely. The session will guide participants through two additional websites that include numerous games to teach French and examples of ways to encourage French development using music. The workshop will be of interest to elementary and junior high French as a second language teachers, and anyone interested in getting ideas on how to teach language in a more engaging and authentic manner.
