In order to continue building effective relationships with students, we are going to have to keep up with student interests and find ways to implement them in our classrooms. Social media is a great place to start I know it sounds silly, but social media and technology is constantly changing We can either keep up with it and use it to our advantage, or we can get left behind and miss out on some really awesome opportunities You can keep up with all of the slang, the Jokes, the "cool things" to say, and even the "not so cool" things to say without even needing to create content yourself. This year I used social media to connect with my students, increase interest in my content area, and even spread awareness about the struggles of education In our session we are going to talk about ways you can use apps to connect with your own kids, get them involved in your subject matter, and use fun and humor to do so They don't know that we know they know we know that social media can be amusing AND educational. This is a pre-recorded session that is offered by TYHO (Teach Your Heart Out).To have access to this video you will need sign up with the following Google Form:https://forms.gle/UsdgGceaxX5mrMRx6
