Join us for a session focused on building a personal wellness & self-care practice using the Self-Care in Disaster Times & Beyond Toolkit.
About the toolkit: Developed by Alberta Health Services, the self-care project emerged from disaster responses in Alberta, including the pandemic. We were moved by people’s stories and experiences and the need for information and practical tools for self-awareness, personal and team wellness, and organizational planning to meet self-care needs. To quote an impacted responder: “Everyone talks about (self-care) in theory, but what does it look like on a practical level and how do we see it not as a “luxury” or “indulgent”, but more as remembering to top up our gas tank, and recharge our battery.”

About this session: We will explore the Personal Wellness workbook and help you to:
• Recognize the role and importance of self-care within the unique context of disaster and emergency response and recovery, including the pandemic.
• Understand the warning signs/red flags for stress and know when to seek help.
• Reflect on and develop a self-care plan.
