I was feeling stuck and uninspired, it was time for a change of pace, it was time to go on an adventure. I got permission to take a leave of absence, and signed a contract for teaching at a Canadian School in the capital of Cambodia. Then COVID hit. The world stopped. I decided to honour the contract and began the process of heading away across the world.

Trusting in the school leadership, in my own inner strength and in humanity I left Canada for teaching overseas. COVID made everything complicated, but then so was moving across the world. I packed up my 2 large suitcases and boarded the plane. With only the best wishes of family and friends and my dream to sustain me I began my epic journey of self discovery. Teaching in a vastly different system, living in a strange place, no pressures or expectations; life was transformative.

Many people dream about travel and working in foreign countries, but few of us get around to it. I will share details about how I overcame my fears and self doubt to live a year of tremendous adventure. Traveling in a tropical storm, for profit schooling, sunrise at Angkor Wat, market food, poverty, corruption, multiple isolations and amazing friendships are just some of the experiences that I will share with you. I will share stories and photos about the hurdles, the challenges and the Instagram worthy dream moments. I will share stories of my year overseas that help me today stay centered on what truly keeps me centered.

This session is for anyone who wonders what it would be like to begin their own epic journey. An honest story with an opportunity to ask questions at the end.
