CATCA 2022 has ended

CATCA recognizes that convention is situated on Treaty 7, South of Red Deer River the traditional territory of the Blackfoot, Tsuu T’ina and Stoney Nakoda peoples, and that the North of Red Deer River Treaty 6, traditional Métis, Cree and Saulteaux territory. We honour the First Peoples who have lived here since time immemorial, and we give thanks for the land.


Most pre-recorded videos and Zoom LIVE recordings will be found right here on SCHED until April 30th. Keynotes are an exception.

Mr. Arvay is the teacher and head of the guitar program at Lethbridge’s G.S. Lakie Middle School. He received a Bachelor of Music Education from Minot State in 1999 and then taught concert band for nine years before moving to G.S. Lakie to teach a guitar program. He completed his Master's degree in Music Education from Anderson University (South Carolina) in 2017. He has performed and studied music all of his life. Sheldon is a multi-instrumentalist and is diverse in all styles of music. He has studied classical guitar with guitar virtuoso Christopher Parkening, played in rock bands and has recorded over 25 CDs at his recording studio Hothouse Studios as a performer and/or mix engineer/producer. He is also still actively performing in various music endeavors when he can make the time available. www.gslakieguitar.com
